Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Cartier Clock Set for Auction

Delano Roosevelt’s Cartier Clock

An onyx clock that was a gifted by Pierre Cartier to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1943 is following the way to Sotheby’s auction house. The clock features special time zones that were vital to allied forces in World War II. The auction for the clock along with its red leather-staging box, inscribed “F.D.R.,” is scheduled on 4 December at Sotheby’s auction house. The duo (clock and box) is expected to fetch between $600,000 and $1 million. The clock is also escorted with a letter from French jeweler to the 32nd president expressing his appreciation for Roosevelt’s “efforts and marvelous leadership that France will again live.”
