Lock of “Che’s” hair Fetched $119,500 at Dallas Auction

“Che’s” hair

Since last month we have been listening about auctions of paintings, art and statues happening at international auction houses viz. Sotheby’s and Christie’s. But to break the monotony and to question your wildest thought, a lock of socialist activist Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s hair and related items generated $119,500 at an auction in Dallas.

The inquisitive compilation was owned by Gustavo Villoldo, a former CIA operative who made efforts to hunt Guevara down in the forest of Bolivia in 1967. He claims that the lock was cut off before burying guerrilla fighter along with two of his companions. To the dismay of the media conjecture that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who deeply honors’ the iconic Guevara would be the highest bidder; it went to Houston-based Bill Butler.
