Elite Celebration: 84-foot Shelton tree Lights Up Rockefeller Center

A Shelton-based couple was amazed to witness the 84-foot Norway spruce that got nurtured in their Soundview Avenue yard for years and lately turned into a center of attention at the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting. The tree was lit at the 2007 Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony in New York on 28 November. The centre got illuminated with its masterpiece of Christmas tree with 30,000 LED’s instead of conventional bulbs. The idea was to save energy.

The Radio City Rockettes also performed during the 2007 Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony inviting thousands of people to glare the magic of this tall Christmas tree.Center representatives ushered Joseph and Judy Rivnyak to New York City. Officials from Rockefeller Center reached towards the Rivnyaks during last summer and encouraged them to donate the huge tree for this year’s Christmas celebration and the couple agreed.

The tree was then cut down and transported to Manhattan this month on a 100-ft trailer. Judy said it’s notable to feel the effect their bequest has made on the society. Word was all around about this ceremony before this tall tree could be erected and thus many time Judy was caught by people in stores while shopping to express their kind words about this priceless gesture.
