Cambridge has made another piece of history by launching an extraordinary clock by an extraordinary person at Christi College. Launched by Cambridge professor Stephen Hawking, this two million dollar wonder took seven years to be brought to life. The clock is designed by John Taylor, who has already made a reputation for creating bizarre time pieces. The philosophy behind this clock, in Taylor’s word is that “once a minute is gone you can’t get it back” and this is visualized in the form of a huge grasshopper that literally eats the minutes. The clock has the grasshopper with an open mouth, that keeps opening its mouth wide and when the minute is complete, it swallows the time and gulps it down!
The clock is to be placed outside the New Taylor Library, which has been named so after its maker.

A true artist never lets an experience go waste. The challenge of the art is to immortalize what appeals to heart, through art. That is what Amy Rice did after she got inspiration from seeing beautiful Zinnias flowers blooming all over. She made Zinnia flowers the theme of a complete range of furnishings including tables, chairs and boards. All this reminds me of the painted leaf in O Henry’s Last Leaf; true to life, these flowers can lighten your mood anytime.

Since I cant make it live, I will be glued to my idiot box and be a couch potato on September 21 when the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards are out. In case if you have not guessed it already, I will do so because it gives me a hang of the hottest and the latest in the fashion industry.
For instance, I will get a glimpse of the Platinum Clutch designed by Cate Adair. And why would I have not a special interest in it? After all, Adlair is the famous costume designer for Desperate Housewives.
Priced a little more than $500,000, this is a little piece of desire that most of us can sling on our shoulder! Those of us living in NY can check it out at Kwiat’s new store on Madison Avenue.

When you play a guitar you need an inspiration- it can be the person you love or some one who you really admire. Would it be such a far fetched idea if the ancient Indian theory of love- Kamasutra comes to inspire you every time you play. Not a far fetched idea if you aske me, because now you can have The Kama Sutra guitar- that has beautiful illustrations from Kamasutra all hand-painted using an equally romantic natural paint- henna. These exotic brown illustrations are drawn on natural blonde Ash woodgrain.
It would be all the more exciting if you paint your hands with this natural tattoo- henna and play in any concert. You are sure to steal the show!

It has been a known fact that human beings have been trying to reconcile with the phenomenon of life and death for ages. The desire to be immortal has led to many new inventions in the field of science and technology. Artists deal with this trauma in an entirely new form- by creating a piece of work that remains immortal even after they are no more. Swarovski designer Quinn Gregory has decided to fight with his destiny by creating a rare piece of art that he wants to be remembered for. He came up with the idea of making Swarovski-studded skulls when he was diagnosed with a fatal heart disease. So, he turned to this art to deal with the realities of death and the inexpressible aura surrounding it.
Perhaps he was taking inspiration from Yeats who wrote about the golden immortal bird. Gregory has taken a hollow skull of a woman and given artistic life to an inanimate skull.
He has decorated the skull with white Swarovski crystals and redone the eyes with blue sapphires. The price for these rare beauties start with $3,000 and have more than 8000 Swarovski pieces on each hear.

Camping was never so much fun, as it can be now that you can dish out lip-smacking meals without much fuss with the help of the new Elevate Cooking System. Now you can travel and yet have your most scrumptious cuisine. Kelly Bremer’s eco-friendly innovation, the alfresco cooking system consists of a stove, grill, and smoker stacked up to pull off as space saver too and also features a heat-activated color shifting material that warns of the flame’s invisible nature. And that isn’t all!! The unit is not only green in color but also in its concept of using eco-friendly denatured alcohol for cooking.
This uber convenient arrangement allows campers to grill veggies or meat and brew soups or coffee on the go without burning fossil fuels or even wood and that too all of them together. Once detached, each unit can stand on its own above the ground with the help of foldable legs. Finish your food and look the unit up as conveniently as you opened & carried it.

So all you campers out there, this one is certain to be a delicious you!!
