Don’t mistake by identifying this speedboat as another thingamajig from James Bond flick. Christened as the SeaPhantom, the concept of this “low-flying” aircraft is been designed by David Borman, founder of Maritime Flight Dynamics Inc. Power-driven by a MV-10 625 hp motor supplied by Ilmor Engineering, this fusion of a power boat and model aircraft slices crossways the effect at 87 knots (around 100 mph). The moment engine blends the boat from rest to 35 mph, the SeaPhantom reflects any other motorboat. Its six-foot-long bowed foils expand across the wings of the boat and the SeaPhantom sets to rise above the waves like a perfunctory water-skier.
But what makes it bag the title of an Aircraft?
The airflow beneath the SeaPhantom raises the boat out of the water’s pull thereby supporting 85% of the boat’s mass. It is here when this boat loaded with five passengers seems to slither or ‘fly’ above the waves, assuring a comfortable ride. Borman took stimulation from 1960s NASA aircraft that was potential enough to produce lift regardless of wings. He envisages offering his crossbreed powerboat as a substitute transport connecting coastal towns or an island ferry service. Word is around that the US Navy has shown interest to pick this craft for its troops but question remains are they ready to shell out $500,000? I wish the response is affirmative.

Picture this: You are standing surrounded by all haute babes in the leftovers of one of the US’s biggest scandals with a glass filled with overpriced liquor. Yah, it is possible as the featured above is a cargo plane called El Avion, now a restaurant cum bar built around a 1954 Model, Fairchild C-123. This is a clear indication of the available future prospects for ant cargo plane that is shot down. Good enough! Fairchild C-123 is been associated with one of the biggest scandals in the mid 1980’s when Reagan administration’s strange network for arms was sold to Iran. It met its end as a cargo plane on 5 October, 1986 on its way to deliver supplies to the Nicaraguan Contras.
Now in its new avatar, El Avion serves lavish food and drinks. Now you can think of wrapping your bag with $$$$$ and things of spending days under the wings of this 1954 Model. One of the attracting features besides its menu and unique accessibility is its scenic ambience wherein seacoast blends with mild reddishness during the evening sunset. This is an inspiration for to-be-retired planes.

I was illiterate about the fact that Piaggio Aereo Company, an established name in the manufacturing of the Avanti II, is essentially possessed in part by the Ferrari people (family)? The pilots of Ferrari’s Formula 1 racing team use to fly in these planes. What you must be wondering why am doing so much of go ga-ga over it now. Right? I have reason as the plane recently got featured at the Dubai Air Show 2007. Well, this reason may not sound enough to make it the highlight of the day.
If I say the Ferrari-branded P180 Avanti II has been tagged as the world’s fastest turboprop private aircraft than would that justify its talk at such length. With 450mph maximum speed, the plane offers a 1,800-mile range and 41,000-foot cruising altitude that may not be exceptional to other private jets but its USP catches all eyeballs as it consumes 30% less fuel. Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo was fortunate to capture a video of the cockpit that is eye-catching.

From the very day when Airbus A380 created a buzz after hitting Singapore, one question revolved into my mind who will be the honored owner of this luxurious plane tagged a the world’s biggest passenger plane.
We were satisfying our curiosity by witnessing few of the captured pics of its interiors but could feel something missing. Days back only there was a rumor that a Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was the owner but Airbus lately declared that Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the prestigious private buyer of the A380. It seems that this private plane won’t be his first plane as the man owns a Boeing 747-400 as well.

It is somewhat surprising, isn’t it? But, this has been made a reality by John Davis who is just too crazy about planes. He has actually made a dream come true by building an ‘aircraft’ in his bedroom. Just imagine you can wander across the world even while sitting in you room. It is just incredible. The flight deck of £15,000 is actually worth the price. His enthusiasm, courage and dexterity are really inspiring.
The simulator claims of recreating the feel and sound of Boeing 747. This great and passionate man has spent around 7 years to make the simulator as authentic as he could. He ensured the design of his jumbo jet by studying it on the aviation websites.
He declares that the software of the simulator has the facility of recreating natural landscapes of any place in the world including the Alps, the skyline of New York, and the like.
It is really so interesting that I want to grab the opportunity to witness this innovative technology.

Singapore made great preparations to welcome the world’s largest plane Airbus A380, European consortium that is all set to fly next week to carve another laurel in its record-history. After its flight to Singapore and then Changi Airport, the plane will make its first commercial flight to Sydney on 25 October. At an investment of $13 billion, this double-decker aircraft took more than seven years.
True, its entry is the after the gap of two-years behind the scheduled year of 2005 but this feature-packed revolutionary jetliner justify the delay. The plane has been discovered as a highly fuel-efficient aircraft offering silent cabin in all large passenger jets. The entry of the jet is like a golden feather to the existing fleet of Singaporean airlines.
The front side of the plane is equipped with 12 first class luxury groups with each offering elite amenities including a proper bed, a 23-inch flat panel TV, working table, a lounge chair and epicurean food. Out of the 12, two suites are privileged with double bed facility.
For the business class, the upper deck accommodates 60 passengers on unique seats that can be molded into a horizontal bed. Around 399 seats are offered for economy class spread over both decks, assuring even the lowest ticket to the jet would be offered the comfort of leg room and knee room.
Singapore Airlines showed its interest in A380 when it was just a concept in September 2000. The placed order of 10 A380s was increased to 15 and then 19 in July 2006. For this value addition, the order of 19 jets including engines and sundry would cost $5.7 billion. Airbus is prepared to deliver the order of 13 planes to Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines and Quantas by 2008, 25 in 2009, and 45 in 2010.

These days’ private jets are considered as the most expensive toys available in the hands of uber-rich travelers. Fact is their whopping cost is affordable to the matching interests of the elite gentry. But amongst the crowded industry of private jets, there exists handful of ultra-luxurious aircraft that can be yours with a demanding investment of $40 million or more. What you are experiencing before your eyes is a virtual presence/ mirror image of the plane that Spice Girls (Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell) would be boring for their impending world tour. Monikered as Spice Force One, the Boeing 757 is expected to fly the group of girls around the globe on 2 December. The Aircraft features an artwork of Spice Girl reunion artwork and the internal lodging is fit for both chic and child. Besides a makeup parlor and nursery, the plane will be equipped with a dining room, business center, artistic bathrooms, media center and sleeping chambers.
Spice Girls will be accompanied with their friends, families, administrator, helper and bodyguards through out their journey. Besides Spice Force One, the band has plans to hire two more jets - dubbed Spice Force Two and Three to welcome their dancers, remaining staff, chefs and loads of equipment. As per the sources, an expenditure of £7-£10 million is been planned to pay off the three aircraft.
