Claims are that this ice-bucket look alike can turn any cheap booze into a bottle of vintage in just 30 minutes. The space-age ultrasound technology behind has garnered a lot of interest. Leisure chain Hotel Du Vin is even in talks about promoting the working title ‘Ultrasonic Wine Ager’.

Wine drinking couldn’t be so tasteful and tantalising before. For starters, Swiss artist Sylvie Fluery has conceptualised a pair of limited edition crystal wine classes for Dom Pérignon. Well, the shape of the glasses has the same seductive elegance but with a sexy twist. Each comes with its own hand printed lipstick mark. That pretty much explains the title ‘Stolen Kisses’.

Expecting to be a collector’s item, each pair of glasses comes duly signed and numbered accompanied by a bottle of Dom Pérignon’s Rosé Vintage 1998. And there are only 999 of them available, which indicates a fleeting appearance in the markets.

Whenever I hear of costly Champagne, a picture of an old cellar stocking tonnes of old champagne in big barrels comes in front of my mind. I have recently come to know that Boërl and Kroff are launching the first print run of champagne millésime 1996. A look at the box will take your heart away as this comes in an attractive wooden outer box. Not much is yet revealed about this pricey drink except that you can have all of 1.5 liters in one bottle of the most expensive champagne in the world. When I read about the story of this long lost Champagne bottle making their way to stardom, I was literally amazed. Imagine a bottle of Champagne sinking in the sea because of a shipwreck some eighty years back has found its way back, and what a come back!

This 1907 Heidsieck champagne fetched a $275,000 tag at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow. And there are more than 200 such bottles belonging to the bygone era. It is being said that the bottles were shipped for a Russian Imperial family at the time when it met the fatal accident.
