Casey Jones with his Wine Ager

Tired of cheap supermarket liquor? Not anymore. There is a soon-to-be released miracle machine for all those of you who want to sip on quality spirits without having to spend too much. A creation of Dragons Den veteran and entrepreneur Casey Jones, this wonderful gadget comes at a neat price of 350 pounds.

Claims are that this ice-bucket look alike can turn any cheap booze into a bottle of vintage in just 30 minutes. The space-age ultrasound technology behind has garnered a lot of interest. Leisure chain Hotel Du Vin is even in talks about promoting the working title ‘Ultrasonic Wine Ager’.

There is yet another plus point that this wine ager has. It eliminates chances of a hangover. Because of the chemical changes occurring, the alcohol becomes easily absorbable by the kidneys. By the way, Jones has also tried the gadget on orange juice. Not only the juice was fresher but it even looked brighter.

A very attractive product that shall pull all restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels and home brewers like a magnet!

Dom Pérignon’s ‘Stolen Kisses’ A Collector’s Item
Posted in Alcohol, Crystals, Designer, Luxury, Wine on 28 September 2008

Stolen Kisses

Wine drinking couldn’t be so tasteful and tantalising before. For starters, Swiss artist Sylvie Fluery has conceptualised a pair of limited edition crystal wine classes for Dom Pérignon. Well, the shape of the glasses has the same seductive elegance but with a sexy twist. Each comes with its own hand printed lipstick mark. That pretty much explains the title ‘Stolen Kisses’.

Expecting to be a collector’s item, each pair of glasses comes duly signed and numbered accompanied by a bottle of Dom Pérignon’s Rosé Vintage 1998. And there are only 999 of them available, which indicates a fleeting appearance in the markets.
So, if you want to be the proud owner of a pair. Keep 600 dollars ready in your purse and a spring in your step because only that will help you survive the long wait outside the select showrooms. Yep, the demand for ‘Stolen Kisses’ is already high.

El Avion: Cargo Plane Turned Into Restaurant Cum Bar
Posted in Alcohol, Designer, Expensive Food, Luxury, News, Plane, Spirits on 5 December 2007

El Avion

Picture this: You are standing surrounded by all haute babes in the leftovers of one of the US’s biggest scandals with a glass filled with overpriced liquor. Yah, it is possible as the featured above is a cargo plane called El Avion, now a restaurant cum bar built around a 1954 Model, Fairchild C-123. This is a clear indication of the available future prospects for ant cargo plane that is shot down. Good enough! Fairchild C-123 is been associated with one of the biggest scandals in the mid 1980’s when Reagan administration’s strange network for arms was sold to Iran. It met its end as a cargo plane on 5 October, 1986 on its way to deliver supplies to the Nicaraguan Contras.

Now in its new avatar, El Avion serves lavish food and drinks. Now you can think of wrapping your bag with $$$$$ and things of spending days under the wings of this 1954 Model. One of the attracting features besides its menu and unique accessibility is its scenic ambience wherein seacoast blends with mild reddishness during the evening sunset. This is an inspiration for to-be-retired planes.

Taste of Russia: Beaute du Siecle; Hennessy Cognac Treasure Chest
Posted in Alcohol, Luxury, Luxury Brands, Spirits, Vodka, Wine on 5 December 2007

Beaute du Siecle

True, Russia is considered as the land of vodka, but it’s a tawny alcohol from France adds a spark of a Cognac Rush in the territory of hyper-rich oligarchs and aficionados. This occurrence is not driven by well-to-do Russians but also the emerging wealthy middle layers of society. Celebration of occasions doesn’t seem to be complete if the glaring bottle of crystal-encrusted cognac nestled with a fancy chest is not flowed. Not to forget the age and price of the cognac, which shares a directly proportional relationship.

Leading cognac brand Hennessy latest offering of ultra-Cognac-dream is Beauté du Siècle, an ornate treasure chest that comes packed with luxurious items, a Baccarat decanter carrying a blend of Cognac dated 1907. Counter 100 treasure chest are being designed by French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel and would go on sale for €150,000, or $220,000. The delivery with happen by a Hennessy board member personally. Also you can eye Hennessy’s Ellipse, a €7,000 Baccarat decanter that is an amalgam of Cognacs admired by seven generations of Hennessy’s blend-masters.

Beaute du Siecle

The four-big Cognac houses that rule Russia are Hennessy, dominating the minds of the people followed by Rémy Martin, Martell and Courvoisier combating for their share. Russia has reached to the pedestal of world’s No. 7 market for Cognac after a long race. It consumed around 5.3 million bottles during the year ending July, which is 49% more than the corresponding period a year ago.

Europe’s Longest Champagne Bar
Posted in Alcohol, Luxury on 16 November 2007

Champagne Bar

After reading this on your next visit to London you cannot afford to miss to drop to the St Pancras International train station. Not for boarding but for a glass of champagne. It now flaunts Europe’s longest champagne bar that measures 96 meters (around 315 feet) and sprints next to the Eurostar platform, maintaining a distance from the trains via a glass division. The bar offers an accommodation for around 110 people and the prestigious menu declares almost 70 Champagnes on menu with 10 available by the glass. If you are in a mood to take a Champagne breakfast and have anything from £39.95-£2,700 then you can make your day with a bottle of bubbly. Well, I overheard somebody saying on their opening ceremony, the bar sold equal of 4,500 glasses of champagne.

5b809b9f.gifSomeone has rightly said the identity of the successful person gets recognized when he is asked for autograph rather than signature. In Blogosphere, the dialysis occurs when a blog gets mature from a label of a baby blog to the pedestal of a majestic presence. Right on the heels of my expectations, I have managed to crack 500 posts (on EliteChoice) within less than a year (with first post on 9 January).

Ideally I should feature myself with a goblet of champagne but I take the opportunity to introduce my internal spirit to you. This two-legged beast is my mirror image who knows the right direction and cherish past with a present energy and looks forward to ink bigger deals in life (in terms of value as size doesn’t make a difference).

Besides my journalistic profession, I was committed to my bloggers’ desk throughout this year and never intended to beat big sharks like Luxist, LuxuryLaunches, UberGizmo, ShinyShiny, Bornrich, UberReview, Blavish and others but am glad that I earned the deserving recognition from them. Also, a three-month-young network with Elite Fashion Blog Bazaar Community is quite satisfying.

It was an exciting journey to chronicle the world of elite products and break the news on the board, respecting the prerequisite of a journalist and curiosity of my faithful readers. Gluing to my very first post that outlined the purpose of my blog, I am happy to set various laurels in that direction and am geared up to offer an unbeatable common-sense perspective on important topics/ products and events of the day.

I am glad to share with you that the onset of 2008 would mark our first anniversary with a lot more unique features on the cards. And yah from today I am all set to offer next 500 posts coming thick and fast.

This Time Three Cheers To Me And My Love:)

World’s Most Expensive Rum: £26,000
Posted in Alcohol, Spirits, Worlds Most Expensive on 22 October 2007

Expensive Rum

Having talked about World’s most-expensive wine and vodka, I use to feel incomplete and guilty that there is nothing unbeatable for Rum-lovers. But today, the very news of World’s most-expensive Rum to be exhibited at Europe’s first rum festival, Rum Fest has calmed down my curiosity. Retailed at £26,000, this can be identified as the world’s oldest rum as well as the Jamaican distillers Wray and Nephew bottled it in 1940 with the blends tracking back to 1915. It is a living symbol of the tradition of the Wray and Nephew Rum. This is one of the four unopened bottles available globally as after their limited production, the distillery practiced different methods of production.
