The enlisted manpower with law enforcement sometimes fall short to perform the tasks that demands much attention and thus there arouses a need for more hands. The mention of eBay and auction doesn’t mean anything unique. Right! But the lately happened auction is a different one. eBay this week invited bids for its unique prototype of Boeing’s Sky Commuter concept. Featured above is the 400-pound car, known as elite and the only remnant of Boeing’s 1980s program altering the divine grail of the flying car. It was reported that the sky commuter crashed prior to reaching ten feet above the surface, as a result out of the three prototypes used only one survived. And it got its deserving price today by generating the highest bid for $131,700 on eBay. The endearing bidder and now the proud owner of this masterpiece wishes to install this piece in a museum.

Don’t mistake by identifying this speedboat as another thingamajig from James Bond flick. Christened as the SeaPhantom, the concept of this “low-flying” aircraft is been designed by David Borman, founder of Maritime Flight Dynamics Inc. Power-driven by a MV-10 625 hp motor supplied by Ilmor Engineering, this fusion of a power boat and model aircraft slices crossways the effect at 87 knots (around 100 mph). The moment engine blends the boat from rest to 35 mph, the SeaPhantom reflects any other motorboat. Its six-foot-long bowed foils expand across the wings of the boat and the SeaPhantom sets to rise above the waves like a perfunctory water-skier.
But what makes it bag the title of an Aircraft?

The airflow beneath the SeaPhantom raises the boat out of the water’s pull thereby supporting 85% of the boat’s mass. It is here when this boat loaded with five passengers seems to slither or ‘fly’ above the waves, assuring a comfortable ride. Borman took stimulation from 1960s NASA aircraft that was potential enough to produce lift regardless of wings. He envisages offering his crossbreed powerboat as a substitute transport connecting coastal towns or an island ferry service. Word is around that the US Navy has shown interest to pick this craft for its troops but question remains are they ready to shell out $500,000? I wish the response is affirmative.

It was in 2005 that Charles Hack, a New Yorker made a good deal of fortune from property and invested the same in owing antique master paintings and Renaissance sculpture. Lately, Hack added another laurel to his name by purchasing a 24-cent American airmail stamp issued in 1918 for $977,500 (including auction house commission). Insane! No he is not as this was a rare stamp that reached the auction block due to its erroneous nature. Identified as the Inverted Jenny, the stamp became popular as a Curtiss JN-4, an airplane designed in the center was printed upside-down.
Counted 100 such misprints exist. Mr. Hack made the highest bid of $977,500 after beating the last bid for $850,000 at the Siegel Auction Galleries in New York City. The very deal substantiates the ongoing trend of owing a gamut of high-end collectibles. During last week, a compilation of American pattern coins - rare samples exhibited proposed designs and the first U.S in 1792 was traded for $30 million between an unnamed buyer and seller.

I was illiterate about the fact that Piaggio Aereo Company, an established name in the manufacturing of the Avanti II, is essentially possessed in part by the Ferrari people (family)? The pilots of Ferrari’s Formula 1 racing team use to fly in these planes. What you must be wondering why am doing so much of go ga-ga over it now. Right? I have reason as the plane recently got featured at the Dubai Air Show 2007. Well, this reason may not sound enough to make it the highlight of the day.
If I say the Ferrari-branded P180 Avanti II has been tagged as the world’s fastest turboprop private aircraft than would that justify its talk at such length. With 450mph maximum speed, the plane offers a 1,800-mile range and 41,000-foot cruising altitude that may not be exceptional to other private jets but its USP catches all eyeballs as it consumes 30% less fuel. Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo was fortunate to capture a video of the cockpit that is eye-catching.

Someone has rightly said the identity of the successful person gets recognized when he is asked for autograph rather than signature. In Blogosphere, the dialysis occurs when a blog gets mature from a label of a baby blog to the pedestal of a majestic presence. Right on the heels of my expectations, I have managed to crack 500 posts (on EliteChoice) within less than a year (with first post on 9 January).
Ideally I should feature myself with a goblet of champagne but I take the opportunity to introduce my internal spirit to you. This two-legged beast is my mirror image who knows the right direction and cherish past with a present energy and looks forward to ink bigger deals in life (in terms of value as size doesn’t make a difference).
Besides my journalistic profession, I was committed to my bloggers’ desk throughout this year and never intended to beat big sharks like Luxist, LuxuryLaunches, UberGizmo, ShinyShiny, Bornrich, UberReview, Blavish and others but am glad that I earned the deserving recognition from them. Also, a three-month-young network with Elite Fashion Blog Bazaar Community is quite satisfying.
It was an exciting journey to chronicle the world of elite products and break the news on the board, respecting the prerequisite of a journalist and curiosity of my faithful readers. Gluing to my very first post that outlined the purpose of my blog, I am happy to set various laurels in that direction and am geared up to offer an unbeatable common-sense perspective on important topics/ products and events of the day.
I am glad to share with you that the onset of 2008 would mark our first anniversary with a lot more unique features on the cards. And yah from today I am all set to offer next 500 posts coming thick and fast.
This Time Three Cheers To Me And My Love:)

From the very day when Airbus A380 created a buzz after hitting Singapore, one question revolved into my mind who will be the honored owner of this luxurious plane tagged a the world’s biggest passenger plane.
We were satisfying our curiosity by witnessing few of the captured pics of its interiors but could feel something missing. Days back only there was a rumor that a Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was the owner but Airbus lately declared that Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the prestigious private buyer of the A380. It seems that this private plane won’t be his first plane as the man owns a Boeing 747-400 as well.
