Featured above is a programmed idea-generating boardroom that can be the prerequisite of any brainstorming conference room. Designed by Japanese IT group Kayac, in association with researchers from Keio University in Japan, the system eavesdrops and detects what’s going inside via voice recognition and project the germane statistics on your center table. Called “Kage roi,” the system identifies keywords and search for them, thereby providing a steady stream to each person sitting at the desk.
Outfitted with countless tinted LEDs, the room is capable of altering the lighting effect to reproduce different moods. I bow my head before all those revolutionary designers, who eat, drink and breathe creativity. Every design starts with a line but a design based only on lines can mark a history. If you can admire the Etch-A-Sketch featured in the long-take Copacabana scene in the Scorsese’s movie “Goodfellas†and the astonishing “La Linea†animatronics of Osvaldo Cavandoli (video appended) then you would surely wish for the designer concept by Aykut Erol turn reality. The range of “Line†furniture system residing in your living room would consist of a desk, hanger, bookshelf, wine rack, CD rack, TV stand and illumination unit standing as design things in their purest forms.
The unique selling point (USP) of the “Line†furniture is that it has no-break line. Hypothetically, the arrangement extends markedly with a single line stimulating itself.

Unlike many of you, I like licking ice cream during chilly winters and demand a company of a friend and a well served ice cream cone. But these demands seem to be too little expectation before Swiss ice cream manufacturer Mövenpick’s initiative. They have taken a step ahead by hiring Claudio Colucci to design a chair purposely adapted to augment the ice cream eating ambiance. And the out product is the “Ice Lounge,” a white cocoon that apparently calms down the mind and body while intensifying the senses to the complex, syrupy aromas.
