You would think it to be some snazzy looking bicycle and give it a second look. But there is more to it and might not be easy to figure out in the first look. eROCKIT, the invention of Stephan Gulas, is an Electric assist bike, simple and skinny for a motorcycle (because it is electric!), and it sure is fast, going at speed of up to 50 miles per hour.
eROCKIT’s inventors call it the human-hybrid machine as I will be the cyclist’s pedaling motions that will assist the motor, which multiplies the rider’s effort by a factor of 50, the company says. The faster you pedal, the faster you go, simple. You just need to pedal even to accelerate as the bike has no separate acceleration pedal or handle as a motorcycle would. Pedaling also helps to charge up the bike’s battery.
Built using a nano-phosphate lithium battery, eROCKIT expects it to last for 10 years or 50,000 kilometers of use. A charge should last for 60 to 80 kilometers Depending on the pedaling style. eROCKIT plans to build just 10 machines in 2009, for the pretty-penny price tag of $44,000 ($35,000 down)! So maybe we will just wait till the idea consummates for mass production.

I am a bicycle lover myself but I detest the idea of having to park it everytime I go to the neighbourhood shop. Why not simply have a bike that I can use when I want to and can pack it and carry with me when I want to walk or halt! My amazing fantasy is being fulfilled by Yirong Yang, the master designer of bicycle who has designed a bike that can be turned into a unicycle any time you want to and can be folded and carried as per needs.
This wonderful design also participated at the International Bicycle Design Challenge. Called as Rotation – a city folding bike, it has adjustable handlebar, the saddle and front wheel. What better way to help making your city pollution free and at the same time grabbing the attention of people around you.

If you have a fad for biking but transporting it to your transferable job location or maintaining its safety poses an obstacle before you then here is a solution. The Folding Back Pack Bike comes handy and you can take pride in owning this gadget-form of bike. Weighing 5.5 kg and 60cm in length, it is possible to carry it on your back in a back pack. As a windfall, the feature-packed form of bike can be turned into a hand cart. The bike sports a headlight, back light and turn signals. The prospective customers for the potential concept includes workers and free travelers, but if you count the doubt digit of inflation still moving high in southwards direction and also the global warming concern then Backpack Bicycle seems to be a perfect option for everyone and anyone.
While this being just a concept, eyebrows are raised for the worthy contender to manufacture this concept and I seriously doubt the safety factor involved.
