Whist 1 June 2008 marked a gloomy day for the fashion industry and proved to be a weighted loss for fashionistas as French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent’s passed away. A month after, the fashion house planned an auction at Christie’s on 2 July. The auction collectibles include seven pieces of Saint Laurent’s attire & jewels featuring nearly every decade of his career. Popularly known as a style-setter, he was the most influential designer of the 20th century and his designer creations details pop-art print mini dresses, peasant skirts and graceful pantsuits that are appreciated till date. To be specific, the collection includes a 1958 Cocktail dress designed for Dior & a 1970 Rive Gauche camel cable knit sweater spruced in fox fur alike to the one that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis wore bearing a pre-sale estimate of $250-$400. A gray pink tulle twilight dress with tinny pink and silver embroidery, designed for Dior in 1958 is anticipated to generate a sum of about $1000-$1500.
Other accessories available for auction include a floral gold-tone metal and crystal stone necklace from 1990 that may fetch $1000-$1500, a hammered gilt-metal “ethnic†necklace from the 1970’s for $600-$800. Currently in fine form, the expected price might seem cheap but the low cost is because of reason they aren’t new designs. Other elegant collection making up to the auction included designer wears from Thierry Mugler, Christian Lacroix, Balenciaga & Gianni Versace.

The history of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel engaged in production of World’s most outrageous and high-priced sporting goods dates back to ages. Having witnessed the Chanel snowboard with trompe l’oeil “quilting” followed by £1,235 Chanel skis utilized by Victoria Beckham in 2004. And the latest falling in number is Chanel bicycle, a pink Chanel tennis racket fixed with tennis balls. And updating its profile today stands $20,000 fly fishing rod (thanks to Lagerfeld for keeping the forte up) inviting the richie-rich daddy. The Chanel rod is scrupulously tied with monochrome Chanel flies and renowned “double C” logo on its gossamer wings. The flying rod comes packed in a quilted black leather box.
P.S.: The seemingly budding relation of Chanel with the sport of fly fishing is ages old as the fashion house’s founder, Coco Chanel, was a devoted angler who whet her skills while dating the Duke of Westminster in the 20s.

Yes, the much-in news blingy silhouette is a platinum wedding dress featured in London as part of the Hatton Garden Jewellery Week. Bearing a price tag of £240,000 almost ten-times the price of standard weddings dresses making up to shows, the ultra-luxurious dress is designed by Italian Mauro Adami using 40 meters of textile spun from silk and platinum thread.
Known as a lead designer of Domo Adami, the couture wedding dresses can be purchased from its show room in Milan. Adami crafts hail from Italy and abroad, and this dress can be seen as his growing ‘passion for brides’ since childhood. Pictured above is a wedding dress that resides currently in the window of the Wedding Ring Shop in Hatton Garden and is the attraction of the carnival, held every year to rejoice the street’s record of creativity and craftsmanship.
This area is populated with over 800 jewelers, detailing almost more than a third of jewelers in London. The festival can be seen as an opportunity to win a £15,000 platinum ring and pendant during treasure hunt.

No matter what is the extent of diet-conscious fashion divas but I put my foot down when it comes to the secret behind their heights of sensual vibes they secrete while walking on the ramp. Yes, you may call it a result of their regular spa treatment or spending hours in gymnasium but to me it clearly seems to be a symptom of their too much intake of dark black chocolate cupcakes. And why not as the sinful treat makes it impossible for any women to stay away from. But little was I aware that they will choose this strategy to flaunt their love for handbags or rather goodies or to be precise cupcakes.
Claiming to be the world’s most expensive cupcake (not edibily), it is a welcoming accessory to be picked by trendy women. Called cupcake evening bag from Judith Leiber, it is festooned with choco colored rocks and diamonds and can offer a room for your designer gloss and accommodate few currency to pay off tips. Retailed at $4,295, this would surely not open for any sundry accessory.
