This space pays tribute to all random opulent thingamajigs and taking a customary call on this, today we would like to introduce you with the world’s most expensive necktie that got unveiled in 2003. No, the news is not stale as it has made up to the headlines with the recent update. Designed by Satya Paul and the Suashish Diamond Group, the silk base of the tie carried by Salman Khan comes festooned with 261 diamonds weighing 77 carats and 150 grams of gold and was valued at Rs1 crore in 2003. Lately, a revision in its cost has happened and it is being discovered that the cost of the necktie has now risen to Rs10 million or $220,000. Gawd, I wonder if ordinary folks besides celebrities and industry moguls can afford to buy one or would they find themselves restricted to window shopping? Well, if you ask me then spending this many such creations may seem a routine for people with big pockets but I would like to go with a plain silk tie with a diamond chip layering or gold lining.

Delamain Le Voyage Cognac, the latest update to the Delamain collection was lately honored with the “Best of the Best” 2008 Spirit award by Anthony Dias Blue for Robb Report. Le Voyage is an amalgam of Grande Champagne cognacs from Delamain crypts. It has a tinge of aromas leather, tobacco, coffee and spice with an affluent tang of the ages old grapes from the hillsides of the Grande Champagne district. The cognac comes fitted in a Baccarat crystal carafe inside a joined together leather traveling box. Now…the much-wanted piece of information, the Le Voyage is retailed for $7,000.

Every automobile exhibition carries with it some element of bling to restrain the attention of its elite customers’. And the customary ritual is being practiced at the ongoing International Motocycle show in Seattle offering a radiant wheel structure. You may call it chopper and she may label it as an artistic masterpiece but to me it seems no less than a functional sculpture. True, there is no dearth of ornamented wheels i.e. £9,500 Gold Bicycle, $800,000 ASI’s Bentley, bejeweled low-rider tricycle and others but the revolutionary offering of gold-plated custom chopper demands $500,000.

Writers with an eternal relation with pen can here witness the possibilities attached to it and surpasses beyond the recognition of a writing instrument to a classy gadget. Instead of relying upon most recent microprocessor manufacturing techniques, it is the design form that adds to the appeal of the pen with technicalities at its most simple. Called Conway Stewart “Evolution pen,†it sports a perfunctory trick and took three long-years for its development. It is a clear indication that calling it an ordinary pen won’t be a wise statement to make. The holder can tailor pen’s center of gravity from front to the back as per the level of your fatigue and writing style.

Yes, if you failed to put your fingers upon Veuve Clicquot Night Clubber and the lavish Champagne that they produced to celebrate their 130th anniversary then here is another that you make you feel surely high. Against its earlier association with Karim Rashid for Globalight Cum Champagne Cooler, now Veuve Clicquot is in news for designing a cruise collection for luxury Italian boat designer RIVA. Jason Bruges Riva is the luxury speedboat company behind the iconic boats of the 60’s and the golden age of the Dolce Vita lifestyle. The design collaboration with Riva is for Veuve Clicquot’s top champagne (prestige cuvee) called La Grande Dame, and details two different accessories for Riva boats: a “made to order†piece and a limited edition one.

Called Ricoh Caplio R5, the digital camera is encrusted with over 200 high-quality diamonds on white gold.

There is a hoopla created for the Computex 2008 fair in Taiwan and whilst GTS370 tri-screen portable PC got a welcoming responses from serious geek’s with little knowledge that it is geared up to offer luxury set of notebook as well. Benq unveiled the S42, a luxury notebook enclosed in elite laminated color metal embossed with Victorian outline. Appealingly stylish and classy, the notebook is powered by latest Core 2 Duo processor and sports a 14.1 inch screen, 2.0 megapixel camera, GeForce 9600M GS graphics, SRS surround sound and hybrid power technology that consumes less electricity. With no information on price, one thing is for sure that the S42 will hit the stores falling mid July.

But who amongst luxury toasts would like to burn roads with this gleaming MV Agusta F4 that breeds luxury? Well, there is a slim chance that folks in dire need to possess pricey items may find it a prospective deal. Pictured here is a 24 carat gold plated bike that was unveiled at the International Fair of Luxury. Initially designed by renowned motorcycle designer Massimo Tamburini, the blinged edition of F4 was developed in association with Aurum, a Venetian company popular for precious metal processing. Spread at a surface area of 5 sq mtrs, each 80×80 gold leaf was functional in offering a sliver effect.
