Cambridge has made another piece of history by launching an extraordinary clock by an extraordinary person at Christi College. Launched by Cambridge professor Stephen Hawking, this two million dollar wonder took seven years to be brought to life. The clock is designed by John Taylor, who has already made a reputation for creating bizarre time pieces. The philosophy behind this clock, in Taylor’s word is that “once a minute is gone you can’t get it back” and this is visualized in the form of a huge grasshopper that literally eats the minutes. The clock has the grasshopper with an open mouth, that keeps opening its mouth wide and when the minute is complete, it swallows the time and gulps it down!
The clock is to be placed outside the New Taylor Library, which has been named so after its maker.

If until date you restricted the functionality of a timepiece to an unending quest of minutes hand after hour or vice versa then its time to erase this stale picture from your mind. Exemplifying it stands here Hysek’s offering of Colosso that offers you a clear view of the earth revolving (literally) there on your wrist. Hysek focused upon capturing the globe onto your wrist in the form of a time-revealing mechanism, where the crystal pustule crammed with a dimensional earth rotates at local or GMT time. The watch features 12mm three dimensional globe royally placed at 12 o’clock angle.
The progress is reflected via cathedral timbre studded with 62 jewels along with a 48 hour power reserve. Right on the location of the globe, it points towards cities of the 24 time zones associated to the GMT. The retrospective time zones with a linear double exhibit is positioned at the subordinate end and exhibited in curvex spot with signal arrows that point out towards (24 to 12 hours cycle and vice versa). Well, being aware that a spill over of $550,000 cannot fetch us a moon rudiment then why not ink a neat deal with this Colosso’s model and feel fortunate to carry the world on our wrist.

Reports from Wealth Bulletin reveal that Geneva-based renowned watchmaker Urwerk has produced a revolutionary timepiece that they claim to be the world’s hardest timepiece, the 103.08 TiAlN. The timepiece is layered with a Titanium Aluminum Nitride minus a coating less than 4 microns thick and a good deal lighter than gold and platinum. At the same time it is more than 5.5 times harder than steel. Nearly unbreakable, the watch is basically resistant to scrapes, shocks, corrosion and even acids. They take pride producing such a masterpiece, as this is the first one to use the coating.
Bathed in rose gold, the limited edition watch would bite you with a demanding price of $70,000. The angled edges of Urwerk’s autograph “orbiting hour satellites” enables you to view time without rotating your wrist. It’s named after Urwerk, an ancient city in southern Mesopotamia, one of the most primitive known cultures in the history of the world.

The Seiko watch company has a convincing tale behind the production of their latest watch viz. the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk. Unveiled at Baselworld, the model has been designed to endure the intense surroundings of outer space and word is around that Richard Garriott, the sixth private-citizen space explorer would be carrying it while making a trip this fall.

Garriott, a video game designer by profession and son of a NASA astronaut is in a mood to drop $45 million for his trip and wishes to visit the International Space Station, thereby becoming the first private citizen to do a space walk outside of it. He would be wearing the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk over the spacesuit so the watch can help him survive through zero gravity and a setting where heat can get as low as down beating 22 degrees Celsius. It is light in weight and bears a dial with a Lumibrite conduct for readability. The case is air stiff and is designed using high-intensity titanium. This limited edition watch is available in counted 100 models out of which three would be taken away by Garriott on his October adventure and rest 97 will hit the market in December priced at $25,000.
