The traditional wrist watch is in for a makeover, quite a trend that has hit the times and is a hit too! Makeovers are the order of the day and designer Joel Williams and Anthony Mapstone have for us a time-telling bracelet! This new concept watch from Clogau Gold is very interesting because the band that you would wear will actually tell the time, the band itself being the watch.
An entry to a Welsh competition to design jewelry intended at the middle aged woman, the working of this watch is not very accurate to the minute but since when did we monitor seconds? Having 12 interchangeable sections, the wearer could adjust it to match the outfit or simply one’s own sense! Each section has two lights one to tell the hour and the other to light up every 5 minutes. From this, you can read the time by reading the Roman Numerals above the lights.

Exhibiting around 200 lots, the highlight of the auction scheduled in Geneva for 11 May is the “Trossi Leggenda” Patek Philippe chronograph developed and designed by Patek Philippe in 1932. Earlier owned by Count Carlo Felice Trossi, the piece is anticipated to produce roughly $ 1.9 million. Measuring 46 millimetres in diameter, this unique over-sized single button chronograph wristwatch is touted as on eof the largest wristwatches ever made by the firm. It was picked by Count Trossi as a realistic timekeeper for use in motor racing and aviation to support with the precise duration of the proceedings in a highly noticeable arrangement.

The production of wristwatches by Patek Philippe was generally huge in size and les sin number. Other highlight of the auction remains a rock crystal crucifix watch (pictured above).
Signed by Fonnereau a la Rochelle in 1650, it is escorted by its innovative en suite silver case and is anticipated to fetch $ 81,000-$ 108,000 during Sotheby’s auction on 11 May.
