A true show of luxury on the waters was witnessed at the Monaco Yacht Show in Monte Carlo this past weekend. Going by the indulgence of the super riches, this show was just their type. An estimated $4.5 billion worth of yachts on display none of which were less than 100 ft, of the 98 crafts on exhibit. The show stealer was Anastasia worth $200 millions!
True to its worth, it’s rumored that this luxury yacht belongs to Vladimir Potanin, the 25th richest man in the world! Some dandy he could be, going by the extravagant features of the yacht.
Completed by a leading Dutch shipyard Oceanco for the Russian billionaire, the Anastasia features six decks, luxe quarters for 12 passengers and 20 crew members including a duplex master suite, a ten seat cinema, a discotheque with a laser light display and smoke machine, an artificial coral reef and 800-gallon fish tank, a swimming pool with a transparent wall, a sunbathing platform which converts into a stage for live music, a library upholstered in crocodile skin, and a hanger full of speedboats and jet skis.
Now this is what self indulgence all about! The world may go kaput with their finance handlings yet if you belong to those who need not bother about credit crunch, then this yacht is already worth more than what it was paid for by Potanin. Heavy pampering guarantee plus a whale of time once invited, if you are a dear friend of the owner off course!

If Titanic was here, it would have loved to meet its competitor ‘Celebrity Solstice’.
Titanic had a capacity of 3,547 passengers and crew, this one has a lesser capacity- 3000 passengers, but claims to have extra ordinary features. It is 315m-long as against Titanic’s 269.1 m. But if you ask me honestly, I would say that Titanic is still a better innovator. Imagine, Titanic was launched in 1912 and, the facilities it had!! Amazing! Having said that, let us give the due credit to ‘Celebrity Solstice’. It is the first to have real grass on its lawn. That would be a great support to people who fall sea sick looking at miles and miles of water. What,s more, you can even go for your bare feet morning walk on the grass!

This U.S. cruise ship will be officially launched some time in November this year, giving a huge challenge to other liners that have suddenly become so puny in comparison to this giant. Honey mooners! Keep track of this one to make your date life time memorable.

Not all of us may have it in us to drive a super fast Catamaran but for those who have it there is R8, and for others who do not have it, there’s this blog post giving you a hassle free window shopping experience. R8 is the 8 Biocat Catamaran in posh red colour that can make a far away onlooker wonder if they are seeing a mirage of a Ferrari in water! Such is its resemblance for Ferrari that even I got taken in when I saw the photograph for the first time.
And these people are not compensating on the environment factor as their entire engine is biodiesel. This magnificent machine is as long as 29-foot and boasts of a V10 power plant. Right now this Catmaran is custom made for a rich client but if you are rich enough, who knows they might make one for you too, if you place your order.

In for an exhilarating ride on water in a green fashion? Here’s the eco-friendly FoilJet MR1, designed by Matt De Bellefeuille, which is a unique concept vehicle on water that gives you an awesome ride and helps reduce water pollution. It uses a distinctive technique in which its foils, located under the hull of the vehicle, act as wings that propel the vehicle completely out of the water. Befitted with an electric engine ruling out oil spills in case of an accident, this wonderful water body is appendage with safety features such as a simple switch to shut the engine down. To operate the Foiljet, the rider will simply lower the foil beams and accelerates. The hydrofoils will then start to act as wings making the vehicle foil borne & prepare it to ride smoothly on water.
Combining the efficiency of a motor bike and that of a sail boat, this water body is sure to offer riders a whole new experience. With use of hydrofoils and a 48 Volt motor, the Foiljet is certain to be one of the most efficient vehicles on the water and an eco-delight at $15,000.

Yacht lovers can pay their attention here. Those willing to ride over water with an attitude can jump onto the Krysalid’42 trimaran. The elite vessel offers a fun-loving, soothing and secured ride to filthy-rich and thus trailing on it means a neat shelling of $606,600. The trimarans are known for their unsinkable nature, even though they are soaked in water. Needless to say, a voyage on Krysalid cruiser aims at revising your understanding of adventurous journey offered by any standard yacht.Feating a foldable structure that can be unfolded within two minutes; it proposes to offer more room on the bulky (42 foot) bridgedeck tavern. Available in two editions, it is purposefully designed to meet two different uses i.e. for racing shows and fast cruise racing.

It is spacious enough to accommodate 6-8 people. So, are the aforementioned reasons enough to convince you in digging out such a fat sum from your deep pockets?

Thanks Robin!

Who says that sunbathing is restricted to only pool side “on water and over yacht”? Its time to revise your perceptions and meet Volkswagen, which has lately depicted lot of sunbathing potential in its coupe model: Topos Caddy Sail Design. Volkswagen is geared up to mark a stylish entry to the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon with its Topos Caddy Sail Design Concept. The concept aims at transforming the Caddy commercial van to impersonate the technique and functionality of a yacht. True, the Caddy Topos concept won’t offer you a ride over water but its roof features a sailboat style deck that can be customized for recreation and sunbathing. Against mere pinstripes and wood siding, the designer van cum yacht concept sports a working wooden deck fitted with aluminum rails.

The wooden ladder integrated into the glass offers easy access to the roof complimented by a flexible deck that twists to make an opportune platform to lay down and enjoy the nautical sunbathing. Do let me know your views about the concept and your call on the reality potential involved in it.
